I didn't start out chasing nines. I began my career as a Django developer, building backend services and shipping features. My path into Site Reliability Engineering was born out of necessity: when our lone DevOps engineer moved on, I stepped in to keep the CI/CD pipelines flowing and the deployments moving.

Somewhere in that stretch, my perspective shifted. I realized I was more fascinated by the mechanics of resilience, scale, and security than I was by the next product feature. I wanted to build the systems that allowed other developers to ship safely. That realization pulled me fully into platform engineering, and I never looked back. Today, my background in software engineering gives me a deep empathy for the developers I support: I know what it's like on the other side of the pipeline.

A pattern you'll notice across my incident work: I rarely stop at the one report. If a single complaint reveals a bug, I treat that complaint as a signal to find everyone else quietly affected by the same root cause, not just the person who happened to notice first. I'd rather catch a problem before it surfaces widely than wait for the tenth ticket to make it obvious.

When I log off, my brain stays busy. I play the piano, play chess, write songs, and dabble in animation. I'm also pursuing a Bachelor's in Business Administration (Entrepreneurship). Building reliable tech platforms and studying entrepreneurship scratch different itches, but both rely on managing risk and optimizing for the future.
